There's something I really want to share with you. And I need to reinforce it in my own awareness. We teach what we need to learn. Ha ha. Or at least deepen or relearn.
In a nutshell it's simple. The most evolved and effective way to see and shape your body and its health is this. Feel into it as a constantly self-renewing flow of primal consciousness energy. Think of your knee, for instance (mine is swollen right now), not as some chunky mechanical thing. Rather, it's a fast, flickering area of your personality and soul's functionality, regenerating hundreds of times a second from subtle chakra energies. The same being true for any muscle, bone, organ, or body part.
Well, That's a Stretch, Right?
I know. In our culture, it's not that easy to think, much less FEEL yourself from that perspective. It has a profound claim to truth, however. Deeper, subtler energies manifest the shallower apparition of our bodies and all the world around us. Working with what's deeper to stay well is a point of agency and power. In Jane Robert's channellings, Seth calls the shallowness the "camouflage" level of reality.
My born native teachers never ingested the mixed blessings of excessively materialistic science. So they never had the mechanistic wool pulled over the eyes. I however, am a cross cultural hybrid. So I'm always looking for scientific findings that help me make the "energy flow" perspective more and more instinctive.
Because that's what allows me to use it for myself and others. At bottom, reality dances according to your felt (not intellectualized) belief systems. So what I want to share with you below is some of the emerging science that speaks to the profound truth of idea that even your bones are flows of energy. Not to mention my 75 year old knee. Maybe that will help you too.
Standing Waves in the Stream
Imagine some steady wave in a river rapid. Or just look at the first picture here. That's a "standing" or "stationary" wave. Relative to the land, it's not moving. The water flows always through (left to right), but the wave stays in the same place.
Given the same volume of water flow, it's always there, shape-shifting slightly, but as permanent as the invisible rocks that form it.
Not the "River of Life" Image
Metaphorically speaking, it's also different. Not our usual "river of life" analogy. In that, we mostly think of ourselves as carried downstream through life. "Don't push the river," Fritz Perls says. We're drawn through calm wide placid periods, or get sucked into troubled, turbulent rides through obstacle strewn canyons of hardship. Or else we paddle hard to push upstream against various forms of opposition.
One that makes little apparent sense is: "Up the creek without a paddle." If you can float your boat at all, the stream itself will flow you out of the predicament. But that brings us more to the point here. In none of these commonplace images are we seen as surfing the dynamic slope of a standing wave of powerful energy flow. Or being actually such waves themselves.
Everyday culture doesn't understand high energy flows. What if we did, and took that image more seriously? What would that mean for your health?
